Raised Beds

The project

Raised beds are great ways to create a low maintenance border which is easy to access and aesthetically pleasing, perhaps especially for soil conditions which are not favourable to plant in. These 3 layer sleeper bed designs, fortified with rat proof wire mesh and dampproofed with membrane for longevity, provide a beautiful garden feature which showcase the plants and are easy to maintain. The planting here is a mixture of long and late season bloomers, around the centre piece of an espalier Apple; Malus domestica. It will need a pollinator companion to yield fruit next year but isn't it a majestic stroke of structural genius? Other species include: Salvia nemorosa 'ostfriesland' and 'sensation medium blue', Rosa 'Precious Ruby', Geranium 'Dreamland', St Ola and Rozanne, as well as Pittosporum tenuifolium 'silver ball', Rudbeckia 'Summerina' and a hint of Thyme for scent towards the front of the border. Packed with life! Too much? Or just right? Is this your style of border, that you would like at your property?
