The project
A classic residential project, remedying an overgrown border and creating a fresh new planting design. The Yew (Taxus Baccata) topiary holds the structure through the winter as an evergreen shrub. Here it is displayed as cone and ball shaped. The striking red Acer (Palmatum 'Red Emperor') is a popular variety and offers central interest in this design. Inbetween there is a mixture of perennials, including drought tolerant Gaillardia which flowers for a long time from June to October. Finally the garden is bordered with the fast growing, colourful and importantly, evergreen, Photinia (x fraseri 'Red Robin').
