Street Tree Planting

The project

Over the course of a month we completed works on 40+ trees, planting over 25 mature specimens at 20 - 25 cm girth, 4-5 m tall and large 80 - 200 litre root balls on a Bellway Construction site, as well as other remedial works. The following work flow description was all done to meet council regulatory requirements, with other considerations like tree species and distance from street lighting columns were also taken into account.

These required 1m3 tree pits and we installed root barrier to protect services as well as surrounding infrastructure. Before digging we had to CAT scan and thoroughly check service plans. Once pits were dug their base was made free draining and root barrier installed. Tree anchor plates were then placed in the pits and strong wires ratcheted onto the root balls to securely lock the tree's in place. Stakes were used as double protection due to the windiness of this location. Irrigation tubes were placed around the root ball for efficient watering. Topsoil, compost and feed were added particularly around the root ball to ensure healthy root establishment. The final touch was a circle of bark mulch at 50mm depth and grass seed around the outside to restore the grass verges. If you would like this service please don't hesitate to get in touch.
